The Neuromuscular Disorders Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is actively involved in multi-center drug trials. Robert Sufit, MD, Senda Ajroud-Driss, MD and Pat Casey, MS, OTR/L, CCRC, oversee the therapeutic clinical drug trials.
For a listing of current drug trials, please visit the clinical trials section of the Neuromuscular Disorders Program website. General questions about these drug trials can be directed to Pat Casey at (312) 695-0774 or pcasey1@nmff.org.
Before participating in a drug trial, you may wish to consult ClinicalTrials.gov. This registry of federally and privately supported clinical trials provides information about a trial's purpose, who may participate, locations, as well as contact information. Always consult your health care professional regarding participation in a clinical trial.
Northwestern also hosts the Neurologic Diseases Registry. This registry includes blood, DNA, and other tissue samples, as well as patient histories. The information is used to further research into diseases such as ALS, Parkinson’s, and other neurological conditions. If you are interested in participating in the registry, or would like additional information, please visit the registry website or contact Nailah Siddique, RN, MSN, at (312) 503-2712 or nsiddique@northwestern.edu.
Patients may also wish to register with the CDC's ALS Registry. This national registry enables better data collection so researchers can look for disease pattern changes over time and try to identify whether there are common risk factors among ALS patients.
