SUMMARY:October ALS Learning Series: Navigating the Challenges of Caregiving for People Living with ALS - Oct. 6\, 12 -1:00 p.m.
DESCRIPTION:About the Program \nDuring this presentation\, caregivers of loved ones will learn healthy and helpful coping skills while living with the challenges of ALS. We will talk about how needs change as the disease progresses\, and at the same time\, recognize our ability and strength to adjust to a new normal. Changing dynamics and emotional burnout will be discussed while we also address how to maintain a more understanding and loving perspective to help us cope effectively. \nThe Les Turner ALS Foundation is proud to offer this webinar at no cost to the ALS community. Thank you to Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America and Cytokinetics for sponsoring this webinar. \nAbout the Speaker \nDr. Anne Lidsky is a licensed clinical psychologist from Northwestern University.  She has been with the Les Turner ALS Foundation for more than 40 years.  Anne founded the first support groups offered by the Foundation in 1981 and has been facilitating these groups since their inception. In July 2021\, created the Caregiver-Only support groups\, giving the opportunity to loved ones of people living with ALS to express their own needs\, fears\, and frustrations. Participants now have a voice in their own support groups\, and they have expressed deep appreciation for this crucial experience. \n  \n  \nRegister \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
