Lou Gehrig Day

Every summer, Major League Baseball celebrates Lou Gehrig Day at ballparks across the country. Whether you're loyal to the Chicago Cubs or White Sox, we'd love to meet up, honor the Iron Horse, and have a great time together at two games this spring.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Lou Gehrig Day with the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs this year. It was wonderful to come together as a community, enjoy two great days at the ballpark, and raise awareness for ALS while honoring Lou Gehrig's legacy.

Chicago White Sox Lou Gehrig Day
Thank you to everyone who joined us on May 31 for Lou Gehrig Day with the Chicago White Sox. From the tailgate gathering to the game against the Detroit Tigers, the day was a wonderful opportunity to spend time together with the ALS community at the ballpark.
Chicago Cubs Lou Gehrig Day
Thank you to everyone who joined us on June 2 as the Chicago Cubs recognized Lou Gehrig Day during their game against the Athletics.
It was a wonderful evening of baseball, community, and connection at Wrigley Field. We were grateful to spend time with members of the ALS community, families, caregivers, advocates, and supporters while raising awareness for ALS and honoring Lou Gehrig's legacy.
In Conversation with Gehrig biographer Jonathan Eig

To commemorate Lou Gehrig Day, enjoy a special discussion with two longtime friends of the Les Turner ALS Foundation: Jonathan Eig, acclaimed New York Times best-selling author of 'Luckiest Man: The Life and Death of Lou Gehrig,' and Lin Brehmer, longtime DJ at 93WXRT and Chicago baseball fan.
During the 30-minute program, Jonathan talks about what went into writing 'Luckiest Man,' who Lou Gehrig was on and off the field, his diagnosis and battle with ALS, and the lasting legacy of the man forever remembered as the "Iron Horse."
