COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Les Turner ALS Foundation is taking swift action to assist those we serve. The pandemic is having a significant impact on the economy and our ALS community will face even greater challenges than normal in the days and weeks ahead. Many of the families we serve have only one wage earner as they struggle to care for a loved one with ALS. The prospect of that person losing their job would be devastating to the family.

To answer this urgent need, we have established the Les Turner ALS Foundation COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund for our ALS families.

About the Fund

This fund will provide immediate help to families with ALS to cover the cost of basic needs such as sanitizing cleaner, food delivery, groceries and more. Additionally, the fund will cover ALS-related costs such as surgical masks, gloves, respiratory supplies and over-the counter medications.

For the safety and well being of our patients, their families, and our Support Services Team, we are now delivering all our support services via telehealth. This requires that people with ALS have the appropriate tools and technology to participate in their care. For those that need them, funds will be used to purchase tablets, high-speed internet, hot spots and other technology to ensure there is no disruption in communication with our Support Services Team or the Lois Insolia ALS Clinic at Northwestern Medicine for their individualized care.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Attend the Lois Insolia ALS Clinic at the Les Turner ALS Center at Northwestern Medicine
  • Accept a phone visit by a member of our Support Services Team
