The following clinic team members will present abstracts at the 2015 International Symposium on ALS/MND in Orlando, FL, in December:
- Jennifer Armh5, RN, MSN, MHA, Clinical Nursing Supervisor – Swallowing/Gag Function – a work in progress assessing factors that impact swallowing function and gag reflex.
- Dr. Trevor Nicholson, Pulmonary Fellow – Factors associated with patient compliance with non-invasive ventilation in patients with ALS. A review of 165 patients on non-invasive ventilation.
- Dr. Robert Sufit, Clinic Director – Will present on study study to determine the safety and tolerability of intramuscular injections of VM202 (a DNA-based medicine) at different injection sites in people with ALS. Eighteen patients underwent this Phase I, single dose safety trial. No significant side effects. Final results are under analysis.

Jennifer Armh5 will also present at the Allied Health Professionals Forum (a day before the larger symposium dedicated to education of nurses and other therapists). Her presentation is titled, “What ALS Health Professionals Need to Know about Today’s Respiratory Therapies.”
