Upholding Family Values and Traditions
For Rosa Elizondo and her teammates, participating in our Strike Out ALS 5k and 1 Mile Run, Walk & Roll allows them to race towards a cure in loving memory of Rosa’s uncle, Alfonso, who passed away from ALS.
“As a Hispanic family, we believe strongly in the importance of family values and traditions. Being a part of the Les Turner ALS Foundation has become an extension of those values and traditions,” shares Rosa. We can’t thank Rosa and her team enough for their continued support of our Les Turner ALS family.
You can join teams like Rosa’s at this year’s virtual event and keep the tradition of racing toward a cure alive! Sign up for our Virtual Strike Out ALS 5k and 1 Mile Run, Walk & Roll today>>
A First of Its Kind ALS Walk for Life
We always say our ALS Walk for Life is like one, big family reunion. It’s a day for our Les Turner ALS family to come together in a day of celebration, hope and love.
It is especially important right now to remember that you are not alone. We are here for you, every step of the way.
You can be part of the first-ever Virtual ALS Walk for Life this year, using your passion and dedication to help create a world free of ALS.
Our virtual format still allows teams to fundraise in honor or memory of a loved one living with ALS, at a location convenient for you. While we can’t all gather at Soldier Field this year, you can continue to walk for hope, walk for help and walk for life! Do you have ideas on what you’d like to see at our first-ever Virtual ALS Walk for Life? Let us know and send an email>>
P.S. Stay tuned for registration to open next week!
Online and On a Mission
“I am so glad Facebook gave me the opportunity to use my birthday to raise money and spread the word about ALS and the work of the Les Turner ALS Foundation,” shares Hermine Wise.
Hermine was one of 23 members of our Les Turner ALS family who created Facebook Fundraisers in May. Together, they raised over $10,000!
“It was easy to do, even for me – a few clicks and it was posted!” While each goal can be modest, like Hermine who set out to raise $200, when the dedicated efforts are combined, the result is an impressive show of support ($10,000!) for people and families living with ALS across Chicagoland.
“The donations of my friends and family made great birthday presents.” Not only did Hermine’s friends and family help her meet her goal, they exceeded it! Create your own Facebook Fundraiser in support of people and families living with ALS here>>
