Super Bowl Fundraiser at the Valley Lodge Tavern

Join us for a Super Bowl celebration with a cause! We’re excited to partner with the Valley Lodge Tavern in Wilmette, IL, for a special Super Bowl Party and fundraising event on Sunday, Feb. 11. This isn’t just about football and fun; it was inspired by Tiffany, a beloved employee at the Valley Lodge Tavern, who is courageously battling ALS.

“We have witnessed firsthand the incredible support that the Les Turner ALS Foundation provides individuals like Tiffany and their families, and we believe that they are making a crucial difference in this fight,” said restaurant owner Chris Stavrou.

By joining us at this event, you’re not only enjoying a great game, delicious food, and exciting football squares, but also contributing to an important cause. All proceeds from the event will directly support the Les Turner ALS Foundation. Let’s rally for Tiffany and all those facing ALS at our Super Bowl celebration! Get your tickets today

Our ALS Support Groups

Support Services Graphic

The Les Turner ALS Foundation offers free online ALS support groups year-round, catering to individuals affected by ALS, their caregivers, and those who have lost someone to this disease. These groups provide a vital space for sharing experiences and finding emotional comfort among those facing similar challenges.

Peer support is incredibly beneficial, helping members cope better and feel less isolated. In these groups, understanding comes easily, as everyone has a shared experience of ALS. This environment allows for deep connections and mutual support led by professional facilitators.

Our support groups not only offer guidance and education but also ensure a nurturing and positive experience for all attendees. Join our community to discover a source of strength and connection on your ALS journey.

Honoring US Figure Skating Hall of Fame Inductee, Ronnie Joseph

Sixty years later, Ronnie Joseph remembers how quickly he and his sister, Vivian, moved across the ice. Skating as a pair, they won bronze at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Austria, the highlight of a career that also included medals at the 1965 World Championships and two North American Championships. But he also remembers the hard work that went into skating so gracefully, and the meaning they found in the journey.

Due to his ALS diagnosis, Ronnie was unable to attend the ceremony when he and Vivian were inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame on Jan. 27. Like many families living with ALS, Ronnie and his wife, Krista, are faced with new challenges almost every day, from difficulty breathing to the demands of managing his care.

Although they now live in Florida, we’re proud to support them with online support visits and help coordinating Ronnie’s local ALS care. And we’re thrilled to share the recognition Ronnie and his sister have received. Because the meaning is in the journey – and for people and families living with ALS, we’re with you every step of the way.

Do You Know Any All-Stars?

At the Les Turner ALS Foundation, we are honored to be one of the Chicago Wolves’ charities of choice and to collaborate with Chris Terry on the Chris’ ALS All-Stars program. This initiative warmly welcomes families affected by ALS to experience a Wolves home game during the 2023-24 season.

Chris, renowned for his humanitarian efforts and recipient of the Dan Snyder Memorial Award, emphasizes the program’s aim: “It’s about providing families enduring the financial and emotional toll of ALS with a night out. They can immerse themselves in the excitement of a hockey game, offering them a respite from their challenges, even if just for a few hours. It’s rewarding to meet these families afterward and learn about their journeys.”
