Registration is Now Open for the Hope Through Caring Gala!

That’s right, you can now register for our 34th Annual Hope Through Caring Gala on Saturday, April 2 at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago! 

Join us in person to celebrate the work of the Foundation and to honor incredible individuals for their significant contributions to the ALS community. The Hope Through Caring Award honoree is Lisa F. Wolfe, MD, of Northwestern Medicine. Dr. Wolfe is a world-renowned pulmonologist at our Lois Insolia ALS Clinic at the Les Turner ALS Center who has built one of most respected neuromuscular pulmonary programs in the country.

But wait, there’s more! The Harvey and Bonny Gaffen Advancements in ALS Award will be given to the co-founders of Amylyx Pharmaceuticals, Joshua Cohen and Justin Klee, for their unwavering commitment to the ALS community in bringing a new therapeutic treatment to those living with ALS.

For the safety of all, all necessary COVID precautions will be taken to make this in-person event as safe as possible. For those unable to attend, a link of highlights of the Gala will be available after the event.

Safely Navigating Your Home and Community with ALS

As ALS progresses, your chances of falling increase and moving safely around your home may become challenging. Take part in our upcoming webinar, Mobility Aids and Home Modification Tips to Improve Quality of Life in ALS, to learn how to safely navigate your home and community while maintaining your independence.

This webinar will discuss home and community accessibility while using a power wheelchair. Other topics will include custom wheelchair set up, ramp accessibility, vehicle accessibility, and minor home modifications, presented by Esmeralda Vazquez, OTD, OTR/L, ATP and Jeannette Wider, MS, OTR/L of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago.
