The Faces of our ALS Walk for Life

You are the Faces of ALS, the faces of our Les Turner ALS family who joined us last Sunday for our ALS Walk for Life.

Over 7,000 of you came out to walk for hope, walk for help and walk for life! And together, we’ve raised over $670,000 (and counting!) to support people living with ALS and their families across Chicagoland.

Our Walk is like one big family reunion where we welcome teams, new and old who, in one way or another have been affected by ALS. Mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, neighbors. You are our Faces of ALS, and we are so thankful to you for being with us last Sunday.

And from what we’ve heard, it was a day enjoyed by everyone:

“Sunday was lovely, enjoyed by all and even our friend Mother Nature cooperated!” – Robin

“What a great party…I want to say that as large as the Les Turner ALS Foundation is, I love how all of you make us feel important and welcomed. I love it and I love being there.” – Joyce

“This is our third year and each year is spectacular! Even the rain couldn’t dampen the spirit of all. It is such an uplifting day with so many!” – Anonymous

“The shirt this year is tied for my favorite ALS shirt!” – Anonymous

“I would like to offer a huge THANK YOU to the person who found my abandoned black backpack on the lakefront and brought it to the Lost & Found. It is so wonderful to know there are still honest, caring people in our world!” – Sally

“The DJ is phenomenal. His energy is contagious. My grandkids had so much fun dancing with the costumed characters!” – Anonymous

We always say the Walk is one of our favorite days of the year. Even when overwhelmed with emotion, to look around and see 6,999 other people fighting the same battle you are is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Thank you.

We would love to see your photos from Walk day! You can send them to our Foundation Facebook Page or send us an email. And if you joined us last Sunday and haven’t already filled out our survey, please take 2-3 minutes to let us know your thoughts here.
