Hello, walkers! Welcome to Walker Wednesday where we share inspiring stories and tips on how to run a successful fundraiser and keep you up to date on Walk news.

Walker Spotlight: Ninfa Queyquep

Ninfa is the captain of one of our largest teams at last year’s Walk, No Quitters for Q. The team was formed in memory of her husband, Eric.

“We continue to walk in memory of Eric but also to support those families going through the same journey we went through. We walk in hopes of finding a cure to this disease that has taken a big part of our family.”

Ninfa has been walking for ALS since 2010 and has brought a large, supportive team every year since. In 2022, No Quitters for Q had a total of 56 members. She shares her tips for recruiting a motivated team:

“I always say I’m just blessed with good people in my life, but without being conscious that I am trying to recruit people and bring awareness, I do place effort on getting everyone excited and ready for our yearly event. As soon as the date is set for the Walk, I let others know to save the date, by posting it on Facebook and by texting and emailing friends and family.”

Ninfa also posts reminders and pictures about the Walk, orders team sweatshirts, and coordinates day-of activities to make sure everyone on her team is ready for the event. For Ninfa, and all other team captains, the key to recruiting a forming a great team is in sharing the importance of why you walk and motivating your team to get excited about the Walk and fundraising.
